4 folks, together with scientists and engineers, have been chosen for the Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Awards of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) for 2020. This 12 months’s awardees are: Okay. Rajalakshmi Menon, B.S. Murty, Sethuraman Panchanathan, and Keshab Panda.
That is an annual award that recognises distinctive contributions made by IISc. alumni to their career, institute and society as a complete, mentioned IISc. in a press launch. One other awardee, Prof. Murty, Director, Indian Institute of Know-how, Hyderabad, has been been recognised for his contributions within the fields of excessive entropy alloys, non-equilibrium processing of supplies by mechanical alloying amongst others.
Prof. Panchanathan, Director of the Nationwide Science Basis (NSF), U.S., has been recognised for his contributions to analysis on human-centred computing options benefiting people with disabilities.
Mr. Panchanathan had been appointed to the U.S. Nationwide Science Board and the Nationwide Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, mentioned the discharge.
Dr. Panda, presently serving as CEO & MD of L&T Know-how Companies Ltd., has been chosen for the awarded for his contributions to engineering R&D, specifically for steering the expansion of engineering providers companies akin to Satyam and L&T.
