George H. Cross

KINGSFORD — George H. Cross, 81, of Kingsford handed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, on the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Middle in Iron Mountain.

George was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Rockingham, N.C., son of the late George and Abbie (McDonald) Cross. He enlisted within the U.S. Military and proudly served his nation for 17 years and was additionally a Vietnam Battle Veteran.

George married Marie T. Giuliani of Vulcan on Nov. 18, 1965. After serving because the Military recruiter in Iron Mountain, George left the army and later based Tri-Metropolis Alarms in Portsmouth, Va., retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Veterans of International Wars Publish 3674 in Iron Mountain. George was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and taking part in pool together with his sons and watching his grandkids in athletics.

He’s survived by 5 youngsters, James Cross of Portsmouth, Va., Debbie (Wes) Copeland of Portsmouth, Keith (Rhonda) Cross of Quinnesec, Mike (Tina) Cross of Iron Mountain and Terri (Tim) Bartels of Kingsford: a brother, James (Shirley) Cross of Virginia Seashore; three sisters, Judy (Warren) Holt of Omaha, Nebraska, Silvia (Shad) Morris of Denton, N.C., and Carol Jones of Virginia. He additionally leaves grandchildren James, Josh, Nicole, Jesse, Matthew, Jennifer, Paul, Chris, Troy, Travis, Tyler, Brittany, Michael, Samantha, Elizabeth, Adam and Amanda, and nice grandchildren James Justice, Katie, Charlotte, Theo, Noah, Jonah, Zoey, Brayden, Kaylee, Weston and Brantley. As well as, he leaves many great nieces and nephews and superb pals from his condo advanced to incorporate his particular buddy Sue Miller.

Along with his mother and father, George was preceded in loss of life by an toddler daughter, Rose Marie Cross; and two sisters, Rosie Chinn and Linda Culpepper.

Visitation will probably be held from 1 to three p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, on the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Residence in Iron Mountain. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Publish 50 will conduct army honors on the conclusion of the visitation.
