The Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sacked its officer, Corps Assistant Illiya Ibrahim, of the Gwagwalada Division Abuja for partaking within the looting of a warehouse within the Federal Capital Territory.
Ekundayo Gbenga, Media Assistant to the Commandant Normal, NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, disclosed this in an announcement on Tuesday night.
On Monday, a mob had attacked a warehouse on the Gwagwalada Space Council about 9:00 am. The warehouse is claimed to be owned by the Agricultural and Rural Growth Secretariat of the FCT Administration.
Baggage of grains, together with rice and cartons of noodles and spaghetti, had been looted from there.
Ibrahim was noticed in a trending video holding three small luggage of rice. Within the quick clip, some individuals had been heard hailing the NSCDC officer: “Officer, officer, officer of the legislation!!!”
“This disciplinary measure was taken after a sequence of investigations and deliberations by the junior disciplinary committee, and suggestions had been made to the administration.
“The advice was given after the officer was charged below the general public service rule which is unbecoming conduct of officers,” the assertion learn.
The CG tasked NSCDC personnel to stay dedicated, persistent and trustworthy within the discharge of their duties.
