Kickapoo led the world in each the girls and boys Class 5 State Cross Nation races with Tyler Harris (4th) and Klarie Brown (eleventh) each incomes all-state honors.
Harris, who’s only a sophomore, ran a tactically sound race in his first journey to the state cross nation meet. He opened the primary kilometer with a time of three:03.6, which put him in 18th place after 1,000 meters. By the two-kilometer mark, Harris moved as much as ninth place which he held by the three-kilometer mark.
Harris then started to make his transfer. After 4 kilometers, he was as much as sixth place. He ran his closing kilometer in 3:07.5 to maneuver up two extra spots in fourth place with a time of 15:46.6.
He helped lead Kickapoo to a sixth place end as a crew. Joplin completed twelfth as a crew.
Parkview’s Connor Ayres was the one different space runner to earn all-state honors within the Class 5 with an 18th place end in a time of 16:10.4.
