Following reviews of alleged uncommon deaths in two communities of Igbo-Eze North Native Authorities Space in Enugu State, the federal government on Thursday stated it had collected samples from sufferers and despatched to the Nationwide Reference Laboratory for investigation.
Commissioner for Well being within the state, Prof Emmanuel Obi, disclosed this in an announcement in Enugu.
Obi stated that there had been quite a lot of deaths suggestive of a illness of public well being significance within the space.
The communities are Ette Uno and Umuopu of Enugu Ezike.
The commissioner added that the ministry visited the 2 communities and met with the LGA Speedy Response Crew, disclosing that “on-the-spot-check and outbreak investigation have revealed quite a lot of deaths from an sickness with signs suggestive of a illness of public well being significance”.
