Members of the Springbok Inventory Theft and Endangered Species Unit arrested ten suspects in reference to nature conservation legislation violations throughout Operation Purchase and Bust on Sunday January 10, SAPS confirmed.

The commander of the Namakwa Inventory Theft and Endangered Species Unit, Captain Karel du Toit, praised the members of the Upington Public Order Police, the Kimberley Crime Intelligence and the Upington Technical Help Unit for his or her help throughout the operation.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 37, have been present in possession of protected crops in Upington.

The next crops have been confiscated from the suspects:
– 4230 Conophytum calculus crops
– 3040 conophytum pageae crops
– 480 conophytum globosum crops
– 755 conophytum roodeae crops
– 280 conophytum uniforms crops

The crops have an estimated worth of 400,000 R.

Two autos, a Chevrolet Bakkie and a Toyota Corolla, have been additionally seized by police for getting used within the fee of crimes.

The suspects are anticipated to seem in Upington Magistrates Courtroom on January eleventh.
