The Tutorial Employees Union of College, College of Ibadan department has disassociated itself from the protest on Friday by some college employees towards the method of collection of the subsequent Vice-Chancellor of the college.

The protesters had condemned the alleged plan by Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the VC, to impose Prof. Kayode Adebowale, his deputy as his successor.

Barring all odds, the protesters insisted that Olayinka’s successor and one different candidate should be excluded from the choice course of.

A bulletin dated October 30, signed by the chairman of ASUU, College of Ibadan, Ayoola Akinwole, learn that “Having noticed {that a} protest was carried out on Wednesday, October 28, across the Senate and Council Chambers of the College by members of the NASU and SSANU within the College of Ibadan, the chief of the department on Friday deliberated on the incidence and resolved that members of ASUU-UI weren’t a part of the protest opposite to studies in some retailers.

“We condemn in strongest phrases the disruption of the assembly of the governing council of the College of Ibadan that was convened to conclude the collection of the subsequent Vice-Chancellor of the college that the follow of the protesters, assaulting, try assault or outright molestation of members of the Tutorial Employees Union of the college, UI department, shall henceforth be vehemently resisted.

“Re-affirms our earlier attraction to the governing council of the College of Ibadan {that a} degree enjoying floor be given within the appointment of the subsequent Vice-Chancellor of the College of Ibadan with a view to shield the sanctity of the college autonomy.”
